Average Onam sadhya experience, Food was alright but the sadhya was missing about 3-4 items from the menu list presented. I did let the manager about this. No hate but it’s a bit disappointing when you travel all the way from a small town to eat something special but you get this.

I recently had the opportunity to dine at Rasam RestoBar in Calgary, based on a recommendation from my friend Deekshit—and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the staff delivered professional, courteous service throughout our visit. The culinary highlight was undoubtedly the mutton biryani—a beautifully crafted dish with tender, flavorful meat and aromatic, well-spiced rice that reflected true South Indian authenticity. Additionally, the pomfret fish fry special, available that day, was exceptional—crispy on the outside, succulent on the inside, and expertly seasoned. What truly stood out was the attention to detail in both the preparation and presentation of the food. Rasam RestoBar delivers a dining experience that combines quality ingredients, rich flavors, and excellent hospitality. I highly recommend it to anyone in Calgary looking for authentic Indian cuisine in a refined and welcoming setting.

First off! Compliments to the chef and staff at Rasam Restobar. The Pompano Fry was bursting with flavors at every level. The Biryani, parrotas were all authentic flavors too. Will be back to taste other traditional dishes from here.

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Every visit feels so welcoming—the owner greets you with such genuine warmth that it instantly makes you feel at home. The food is consistently delicious, and while I’ve never been to Kerala, the way they bring a piece of its culture and hospitality to life here abroad is truly special. This Onam was my very first time celebrating with my partner, and the experience could not have been more memorable. From the smooth reservation process to the authentic food and heartfelt hospitality, everything was simply perfect. This restaurant doesn’t just serve food—they create extraordinary experiences that stay with you. A true gem for anyone looking to enjoy not only South Indian cuisine but also the essence of Kerala’s culture and traditions.

An Unforgettable Culinary Journey at Rasam – A Must-Visit Indian Restaurant in Canada! Rasam had been on my bucket list for a while, and I’m so glad I finally got to tick it off — and with an experience that exceeded every expectation. We went for dinner and ordered Kanthari Tawa Fish, Appam, Porotta, Shappu Beef Curry, Kanthari Paal Kappa, Tea, and Bonvitta. Every single item was bursting with authentic Kerala flavors, making it hands down the best Indian food I’ve had in Canada. If you're a fish lover, you absolutely must try their Kanthari Tawa Fish. It was perfectly cooked, spicy, and flavorful — a dish that truly stole the spotlight. The tea took me right back to the local chai stalls of Kerala, and the Bonvitta made me instantly nostalgic, reminding me of simple joys from back home. The food was so amazing that we didn’t even consider going to any other restaurant the next day — we went straight back to Rasam again for dinner. This time, we had Chicken Biriyani, Masala Dosa, Vada, Chai, and Sulaimani. Again, the food did not disappoint. The Vada was slightly better on the first day, but the difference was minor. The only thing that didn’t quite match my taste was the Sulaimani, but that’s just personal preference. Service-wise, it was a little more attentive on the first day — probably due to a different team of order takers — but nothing major that would take away from the overall great experience. All in all, Rasam delivers authentic, delicious Indian food with flavors that feel like home. Whether it’s the nostalgic tea, the spicy beef curry, or that mind-blowing Kanthari fish, every bite was memorable. This place is a must-visit for anyone craving real Kerala cuisine in Canada. I’m already looking forward to going back! Unlike many other restaurants, no one from the staff asked us to leave a review. I’m writing this purely because of how genuinely happy I felt after dining here. Honestly, it would be worth travelling from BC to Calgary with friends just to enjoy good Kerala food like this. I really hope they open a branch in Vancouver someday.

This place have really nice ambiance and lighting at the dining area. Food was good and loved the pompano tawa grilled. Also, I love the way employees ask our feedbacks in between so they know how we are doing and improve.

Rasam is our go-to restaurant for authentic Kerala dishes. The food is always delicious, especially the fish curry meals — they taste just like home and come in generous portions. Whether dining in or ordering delivery, the experience has always been consistently good. Highly recommend for anyone craving Kerala flavors.

The tables were empty, but there were leftover plates and glasses from previous diners when we were seated. The food was okay, but be warned about the plates—they smelled of dirty clothes. We asked for fresh plates, but they still smelled, it seemed like they didn’t care. The BDF was to the par, but the idli was over-fermented. The appam arrived after a brief trip between the kitchen and confusion. Sulaimani took a while to come to our table. It seemed like the staff missed small things like “takeaway”. Overall I went inside with some expectations but walked out with fewer received. It was a hot day and restaurant felt like in a hot oven.
